Hello Curry acquires food delivery start-up

Deal will help acquirer penetrate breakfast and meal box segments based on subscription framework

Quick service restaurant chain Hello Curry today announced the acquisition of 'The First Meal', a food delivery start-up that takes pre-orders from customers through its subscription platform. The terms of the deal remain undisclosed, but consists of both cast and stock, according to a company statement.

The acquisition is expected help Hello Curry to penetrate the breakfast and meal box segments based on subscription framework, through which First Meal offers various packages to customers ranging from one week and up to a month with customised food.

Raju Bhupati, CEO of Hello Curry, said their aim to reach 5,000 meals per day within next 6 months would be easily achieved through this acquisition. Hello Curry was started operations in early 2014 with a seed capital of Rs 6 crore from Sri Capital, owned by Sashi Reddi, while the First Meal was launched in the middle of 2015 by entrepreneur's Yuv Raj Poosarla among others.
