Honda to roll out two new models, commits Rs 800 cr capex in FY18

HMSI is the biggest player in scooter market with a share of 60%

Leading two-wheeler maker Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd is looking at two new product offerings by the close of this financial year. The company has lined up a Capital expenditure (Capex) of Rs 700-800 crore, to be invested mostly in creating additional production line at its Karnataka plant.

"We are planning to launch two new models- a gearless scooter and a motorcycle. Our Capex for this financial year would be used primarily on the new production line at Karnataka that would enhance annual production capacity by 50,000 units. Some of the Capex would also go into new model
