Ahmedabad-based Torrent Pharmaceuticals is gearing up to launch its first novel drug in diabetes in the second half of the next financial year. A novel chemical entity (NCE), which was under development for 10 years, is now in Phase-3 clinical trials. Aman Mehta, chief marketing officer, India business, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, says the company is evaluating potential acquisition targets over the last few quarters.
