ICF notches record 285 rail coaches

Chennai-based rail coach manufacturer, Integral Coach Factory (ICF), today reported a "record" production of 285 coaches for a quarter of a production year.      

An official release from ICF said that this was the highest ever in a quarter of a production year, and came in the first quarter (April-June) of 2009.     

The previous highest was 222 coaches manufactured during the same period last year, it said.     

"The 28.3 per cent increase in production has been achieved despite higher production of heavy-build-coaches that require additional man hours," the release said.
