Indraprastha Gas net up 25% at Rs 86 cr

Turnover zoomed 31% to Rs 961 cr compared to Rs 734 cr a year ago

Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) has posted a 25 per cent rise in net profit for the third quarter of the financial year ended on December 31 to Rs 86.34 crore, as against Rs 69.15 crore compared to the same quarter during the previous financial year.

Meanwhile, the turnover of the sole supplier of compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) in the National Capital Territory, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad also zoomed 31 per cent to Rs 961 crore during the period under review, as compared to Rs 734 crore during the third quarter of the financial year 2011-12.
 

In Q3 of 2012-13, the CNG sales volume has increased by 8 per cent and PNG sales volumes increased by 17 per cent over Q3 of FY12. On an overall basis, there is 9 per cent growth in sales volume during this quarter over the corresponding quarter of FY12. IGL is supplying PNG to nearly 3,70,000 households in Delhi and NCR towns and also meeting requirements of over six lakh vehicles running on CNG in NCR.
