KV Sridhar named creative head of India subcontinent

With an aim to transform itself into a new age communication agency, Leo Burnett India the creative agency of the Publicis Groupe, has announced a restructuring in its ranks. To begin with, Leo Burnett India national creative director – KV Sridhar, popularly known as Pops, has been made chief creative officer of the India Subcontinent. Nitesh Tiwari has been promoted to take on the post of Leo Burnett India chief creative officer.
The company has also promoted many of its “star performers” it said in a statement.
Arvind Sharma, Chairman and CEO, India Subcontinent of Leo Burnett said, "The world is changing as we speak and status quo is to be questioned every moment. Fresh thinking is the life-blood of our business. And there is nothing better than our lineup of a seasoned visionary like Pops and young leaders to keep this life-blood pumping.”
Sridhar added, “The core of our consumers across product categories is becoming younger and younger with every passing year. So it is only fair that we have young creative leaders- who speak the language of youth and understand new-age challenges for brands and businesses. They have the talent and the mindset to address these challenges with fresh ideas and solutions across new media.”
Earlier for agencies in India TV advertising was the core of marketing plans and specialist services were bought from smaller independent shops. Their clients are now demanding new ways of approaching advertising suited to the rapidly changing environment.
