After O&M’s bronze win, it is now the turn of McCann to walk away with a trophy. It bagged the gold in the outdoor category for Western Union Money Transfer. But apart from McCann, no other agency won an award in the outdoor category despite 22 entries shortlisted from India.
But India had some good news in media, with two silver and one bronze trophies coming its way. This was bagged by Leo Burnett for Door Step Schools and Cheil India for Samsung. In all India has five metals so far including one gold, two silvers and two bronze Lions.
Ironically, India did not bag a trophy in Creative Effectiveness where Creativeland Asia was a strong contender with its Plan-T for Hippo, a social media initiative that looked to replenish inventory of the snack.
But hope still remains with categories such as press and design, where India has traditionally done well.
