Michelin launches premium range radial tyre for superbikes

Company expects superbike market in India to grow in near future

Tyre major Michelin has launched two premium range radial two wheel tyres designed for high-performance for the 600 cc and above superbikes, with an eye on the growth of the growing Indian superbike market.

The company today launched MICHELIN Pilot Road4 and MICHELIN Pilot Power3, stating that the ranges will cover a broad range of super-sport motorcycle models that are used differently, for both road and track usage along with motorbikes on the road, such as Kawasaki, Ducati, Aprilia, Benelli, Yamaha, Hyosung, Honda.

Pradeep G Thampy, Commercial Director, Two Wheels, Michelin Asia, Africa and Middle East said: "Industry analysts predict the Indian superbike market of 500 cc and above, which has been growing at has been growing 40-50%, year on year, to more than double in the next five years. This makes it an exciting time for the performance motorcycle market in India."

 

The French company, which has a presence in 170 countries, has a manufacturing facility near Chennai.
