Nadella's speech gives new fillip to MS India staff

His speech focused on his strategy of 'cloud first and mobile first'

Microsoft chief executive officer Satya Nadella's close to two-hour speech on Monday turned out to be a lasting morale booster for the over 3,000 employees at the IT behemoth's Microsoft India Development Centre (MSIDC) here.

"Nadella has always been an advocate of cloud technologies. His speech yesterday also focused on his strategy of 'cloud first and mobile first," an MSIDC employee said, requesting anonymity.

Nadella, who was executive vice president for Microsoft's cloud and enterprise group before becoming its CEO, has of late been restating the company's commitment to develop an end-to-end suite of software that extensively uses cloud technologies and is easily deployed on mobile devices.

 

"He (Nadella) is now an inspirational personality for many of us. His speech was really motivational and we are now gearing up to upgrade ourselves to execute more and more cloud-focused projects," said another employee.

Stating that Nadella had indicated a likely collaboration with the Centre and the Telangana government to deliver cloud and digital technologies, he said the CEO also asked the staff to work on personal and predictive tools that could help individuals and companies.
