Public sector aluminium major National Aluminium Company (Nalco) logged 22.4% fall in its net profit at Rs 135 crore for the quarter ended on June 30 this year as compared with Rs 174 crore recorded in the same period of last financial year.

Nalco attributed the dip in net profit to lower market realization despite quantum jump in production.

The company produced 94,496 tonne of aluminium, 10% higher than 85,722 tonne in the comparable period of 2015-16. Total sale of alumina and aluminium stood at 0.29 mt and 82,386 tonne respectively.

Net power generated by Nalco was 1,489 million units, a growth of 1,358 million units in the same period of previous financial year. Besides, in the field of renewable energy, the company has generated 52 million units of wind power during the April-June period.
