NIIT Tech Q1 net up marginally to Rs 41 cr

NIIT Technologies today posted a marginal 0.8% increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 41.2 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 40.8 crore in Q1 of the last fiscal.

Total revenue of the company for Q1 is up 12.8% at Rs 328.8 crore, compared to Rs 291.4 crore for the same quarter of FY11.

"Growth during the quarter was a result of significant expansion in business from international geographies, which grew sequentially by 10%," NIIT Technologies CEO Arvind Thakur said.

In Q1 of FY12, the company made a net addition of 459 employees, taking its total headcount to 6,265. NIIT Technologies said the net addition of employees in the quarter was the highest that the company has made in any quarter.
