NTPC Q2 net up 15% at Rs 2,424 cr

Power major National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) today announced a 15% increase in its net profit at Rs 2,424 crore for the quarter ended September 2011 as against Rs 2,107 crore a year ago.

Total income also rose 6.5% to Rs 16,386 crore when compared to Rs 15,375 crore in September 2010.

The other operating income rose 400% to Rs 321 cr. In the same period a year ago it was Rs 64.4 crore

NTPC stock price on Bombay Stock Exchange rose 2% to Rs 174 at 1415 hours.
