Parent Circle magazine launches online social platform for parenting

Parent Circle, an English monthly magazine on parenting and child development promoted by a promoter family member of the Ramco Group of companies, has launched a web and mobile social platform to act as an aggregator of content from parents, educators and experts in one place for parenting and child development.

Parentcircle.com, currently funded through internal investment from the Ramco Group family, is looking at bringing around a million parents, around 5,000 students, 100 experts and 100 partners into the platform in a year's time.

"We are currently looking at creating content and building community to a sizeable level.

Once there is a sizeable community, we may look at various revenue models," said Nalina Ramalakshmi, founder and managing director, parentcircle.com, who is also a promoter family member of the Ramco Group of

ParentCircle is expected to bring together parents, educators, doctors, counselors and other experts to share knowledge and experiences for the holistic development of children.

"We have aggressive growth plans and in the first phase, will focus on building momentum across three cities; and tie-up with over a thousand schools and over hundred knowledge partners. We plan to invest our resources aggressively over the next 5 years with a goal of creating a line of novel products designed to meet the emerging needs of parents and make parenting a joyful experience," she added.

The company would be looking for a fund raising on a later stage, she added.

Ramalakshmi is the founder and managing director of Shri Harini Media Ltd, which publishes the parenting magazines 'ParentCircle' and 'Chellamey'.
