PCB fines Bhushan Steel for pollution

Cracking its whip, the state pollution control board has imposed a fine of Rs 54, 000 on Bhushan Steel limited in Dhenkanal district for dumping its slurry illegally on open ground near a local village. According to an official of state pollution control board regional office, “There was an inspection earlier in the steel and power plant of Bhushan Steel Limited where it was found that the company was dumping the ash generated from two power plants near local village illegally. Bhushan has two power plants of 110MW and 300 MW capacity.
