With Jacqueline Fernandez’s investment in Rakyan Beverages, which sells juices under the RAW Pressery brand, she has become India’s first celebrity to finance a consumer products firm.

With her investment of Rs 3.5 crore, the Mumbai-based start-up total net worth now stands at Rs 120 crore. The company provides door-to-door delivery services in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Gurgaon and Bengaluru. 

The latest funding round shows how celebrities, with huge social-media fan base, are now investing and promoting sales of products. Similar trend has been witnessed actively in Hollywood, including Madonna’s investment in coconut water bran Vita Coco and Beyonce’s in watermelon-water
