Anil Ambani-owned Reliance-DreamWorks' latest feature film 'Lincoln' has received 12 nominations at the 85th Academy Awards. The announcement of the nominations was made today.

Directed by Steven Spielberg, Lincoln has been nominated in the categories of Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Editing, Best Music, Best Production Design and Best Sound Mixing.

The film has also got 10 BAFTA Awards nominations, 7 Golden Globes nominations and 4 Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations.

Lincoln was released in the US on November 16 last year, and is still running in the theatres with the box office collections of $145 million as of yesterday. The film is slated to release in India on February 8.

Set against the backdrop of the Civil War, Lincoln is a historical drama which covers the final four months of the eponymous President’s life, as he struggles with the continuing carnage while himself waging a war against his own cabinet in order to have the Thirteenth Amendment passed and thereby abolish slavery.

Reliance-DreamWorks’ three films, The Help, War Horse and Real Steel had bagged 11 nominations last year at the 84th Academy Awards.
