Rs 6 lakh Japan grant for jute bag cell

Under the Japanese government’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) Scheme, on behalf of the Government of Japan, Consul General of Japan at Kolkata has signed a grant contract with Chaplin Club of Paschim Medinipur district for an amount of $15,188 (Rs 6,14, 519).

The organization so far has utilized this grant to construct the work shed and purchase the necessary jute mat making equipments meant for the benefit of the poor women self-help groups to fight against poverty by enhancing their economic ability. Every year, more than 100 rural women from the surrounding villages will be benefited from the work shed.

 

The government of Japan, decided to support such an organization which is working intensively for and with the socially and economically challenged women for the benefit of poor women self-help groups to fight against poverty by enhancing their economic ability under the GGP Scheme.
