Siemens bags Rs 2,956 cr project from Qatar company

Diversified firm Siemens today said the company along with its Germany-based parent company --  Siemens AG -- has bagged a contract worth Rs 2,956 crore from Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (QGEWC).

"A consortium of the company and Siemens AG, Germany has won an order from Qatar General Electricity & Water Corp worth Rs 2,956 crore," Siemens said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

"The contract value for the company is about Rs 2,491 crore," it further said.

The scope of work for this turnkey project includes design, engineering, supply, erection, civil and commissioning of 14 new sub-station, five modification sub-station and five cable diversions, the company said.

 

According to Siemens, the commissioning of project is scheduled to be completed in April 2013.

Siemens has presence in different areas including energy, healthcare and IT.

Shares of Siemens today closed at Rs 645.15, down by 0.98 per cent from previous close on the BSE.
