THDC signs initial pact with UPSIDC for Khurja power plant

Company has an installed capacity of 1,400 MW with commissioning of Tehri and Koteshwar Dam projects

State-run Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC) today said it has signed an initial agreement with Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) for transfer of land to implement the Khurja thermal power plant.

"THDC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for transfer of already acquired 1,200 acres of land to implement 1,320 MW Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant with UPSIDC," the public sector firm said in a statement.

The MoU was signed on December 14 in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and R S T  Sai, CMD, THDC, in Lucknow.

THDC has diversified in thermal power generation with allotment of Khurja project PPA's (Power Purchase Agreement) for entire energy signed with five beneficiary states (Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan).
