Riding on better realisation and lower sugarcane prices, Triveni Engineering and Industries (TEIL), the country's third largest sugar producing company, registered a 535 per cent surge in net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2008.

</p><p class='TableClas'>Net sales grew by 3.85 per cent to Rs 378.53 crore. The company has accounted for sugarcane purchases at a rate of Rs 110 a quintal for the quarter, in tune with the Allahabad High Court&#39;s November 2007 order.
