Tulip Telecom Q2 net up 11% at Rs 87 cr

Enterprise data services company Tulip Telecom today reported 11.62% growth in net profit at Rs 87.06 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.

In the same period last year, Tulip had recorded net profit of Rs 77.99 crore.

"High demand for our enterprise services continues across the connectivity, managed services and data centre product portfolios. Even though lead time for decision making from organisations has increased, we have built a strong funnel across all product portfolios," Tulip Telecom CEO Sanjay Jain said.

During the last quarter, there was increased traction in existing and new industry segments like Banking & Financial Sector, IT/ITeS, Government and others, he added.

The company's revenue jumped 20.10% during the quarter to Rs 702.94 crore, from Rs 585.28 crore in the July-Sptember period of 2010.

During the quarter, Tulip increased its engagements with existing customers and added various new clients including ISRO, Sahara India Financial Corp, Tata Interactive, Euronet and IIHT during the quarter.

The project for laying 1,200 km NLD Fibre, with a total capital expenditure of Rs 60 crore is on track, the company said.
