Vishal Suri has been appointed as managing director of Kuoni India. He replaces Rajeev Wagle who resigned from the post.
The changes in top management at Kuoni India take place a month after Thomas Cook acquired the company. Suri held the position of CEO - Tour Operating in Kuoni India. Prior to joining Kuoni he was chief operating officer (leisure travel) in Thomas Cook.
Thomas Cook concluded the acquisition of Swiss tour major Kuoni's business in India last month. The acquisition of Kuoni Hong Kong, which was a part of the same Rs 535 crore transaction, had been completed a month earlier.
Both Thomas Cook and Kuoni India will function as separate entities and will continue to compete in outbound travel, meeting-incentive tours and corporate travel businesses. Only the inbound business of two companies is being integrated.
Kuoni's destination management business, which functions under the brand name Sita, will be merged with Travel Corporation of India (TCI). TCI handles the inbound tour business of Thomas Cook.
