Zerodha rolls out trading portal in Odia language

Firm plans to tap five million participants who aren't investing currently and show them how stock market can create wealth

Zerodha rolls out trading portal in Odia language

BS Reporter Bhubaneswar
Zerodha, a leading online brokerage firm, has announced the launch of its web-based trading portal, KITE, in Odia language.

Zerodha has support offices in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack currently, and plans to open more offices across Odisha. The support offices help in offering superior localised services for the company's clients, besides regularly informing them about innovative initiatives from Zerodha.

The awareness for stock market participation in India is very low and to attract the 65 per cent of the under-35 Indian population, Zerodha has taken significant initiatives including zero brokerage and KITE in Odia.

"The investment culture has to be nurtured, and we intend to do this not just by offering a zero brokerage investing platform, but an extremely easy user experience with KITE in Odia. Our plan is to reach out to the next five million participants who are currently not investing and show them how the stock market can create wealth if invested for the long term", a Zerodha release said, quoting its founder and chief executive officer Nitin Kamath.

KITE is integrated with an advanced behavioural analytics and visualization platform, called Quant, which helps traders understand their trading behaviour to make informed investment decisions.

"With a trading platform in Odia, language is no longer a barrier for the trading/investing community. We are certain that Kite's superior technology wrapped up and presented in a local language will not only ensure seamless access to markets, but also make the whole trading experience enjoyable", said Karthik Rangappa, vice president (education & research), Zerodha.
