A major earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale on Wednesday hit areas around the Indo-Myanmar border.
The strong tremors were felt in the Northeast, West Bengal, Bihar and other parts of the country on Wednesday evening after a powerful earthquake hit Northwest Myanmar.
According to National Centre of Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at 7:25 pm at the depth of 134 km.
However, there were no immediate reports of damage to property and life.
