Yoga guru Baba Ramdev's Ayurvedic medicines are all set to get a boost, as Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said the Narendra Modi government would promote and integrate all the ancient medicinal systems in the country.

The NDA government would promote Ayush systems and evidence-based centres would be set up in AIIMS and government hospitals, Vardhan said after inaugurating a medicinal plant museum run by the Patanjali Ayurveda at Haridwar on Sunday.

Swami Ramdev, whose business turnover was estimated to be between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,000 crore, welcomed the Centre's gesture and expressed hope the Narendra Modi government would work hard to restore the lost glory of Ayurveda system in the country. "The previous government had turned the health department into a complete allopathic department. It's now the time for the Modi government to revive the ancient system of ayurveda," said Ramdev.

Endorsing the views of Ramdev, Dr. Harsh Vardhan said the world has accepted the capability and importance of the ancient Indian medicinal systems, including Ayurveda and the time has come to integrate them.

Vardhan lauded the efforts of Baba Ramdev to preserve the ayurvedic medicines in the new museum of Patanjali Yogpeeth.

He said the World Health Organization has also accepted the importance of Ayurveda and the new centre will help in revolutionising the system.

Praising Ramdev, the union minister said Baba Ramdev has also started a new movement which should be aptly called "health for all."
