Indian para-athlete and Arjuna awardee Deepa Malik have signed with Bunty Sajdeh led Cornerstone Sport. The Mumbai-based agency, which exclusively manages athletes such as Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, and footballer Sunil Chhetri will handle Deepa's brand endorsements, commercial engagements, social and digital media and appearances.

"I am happy about the association with Cornerstone. It's a company that has a great legacy of managing top sports titans and for them to come forward to assist me comes as a huge celebration of Para sports as a mainstream sport. For them to invest time in a wheelchair athlete and saluting her achievement highlights their inclusive nature. I am looking forward to this association as a path-breaking journey to explore avenues for a physically challenged achiever especially in endorsement world", said Malik.

Deepa Malik, who was left paraplegic since the onset of spinal tumour in 1999, has been confined to a wheelchair for the last 17 years. She recently scripted history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Paralympic Games in Rio, winning silver at the Shot Put. In addition to this, she also holds the national and Asian record at the Javelin throw.

Beyond field events, Deepa has also excelled in multiple sports and created history by becoming the first paraplegic woman Biker, rally car driver and a swimmer who holds four adventure records in the Limca Book of Records. She is a unique athlete and is an inspiration for others living with a disability.
