A 38-year-old CPI(M) worker was allegedly hacked to death by an unidentified gang at Payyanur here, police said today.
The assailants who came in a jeep and motorcycles attacked Dhanaraj, a native of Kunnaru in the district, with machetes around 10.30 p.m. yesterday when he was entering his house, police said.
Though he was rushed to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital by locals, he succumbed on the way, they said.
