DATA STORY: 96% of all confirmed Covid-19 cases in India have recovered now

India on Wednesday reported a net reduction of 6309 to bring its count of active coronavirus cases down to 262,272, the lowest since July 7 and 74.2 per cent lower than the September 18 peak of 1,017,754. With a continuous trend of daily reductions, India’s share of global active coronavirus cases is down at 1.18 per cent (one in 85). The country added 20,549 cases to take its total caseload to 10,244,852. And, with 286 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 148,439, or 1.45 per cent of total confirmed infections.
