DATA STORY: India adds 86,498 cases; death toll goes past 350,000-mark

India has so far administered 236,198,726 vaccine doses. That is 814.57 per cent of its total caseload, and 16.96 per cent of its population

India on Tuesday reported a net reduction of 97,907 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 1,303,702. India’s share of global active coronavirus cases now stands at 10.26 per cent (one in 8). The country is second among the most affected countries by active cases. On Tuesday, it added 86,498 cases to take its total caseload to 28,996,473. And, with 2,123 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 351,309, or 1.21 per cent of total confirmed infections.
 
With 3,364,476 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on Monday, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 236,198,726.
