DATA STORY: India has added 2,169,308 cases to its Covid tally in the past 7 days alone

India has so far administered 140,916,417 vaccine doses. That is 848.36 per cent of its total caseload, and 10.13 per cent of its population

India on Sunday reported a net increase of 129,811 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 2,682,751. India’s share of global active coronavirus cases now stands at 14.22 per cent (one in 7). The country is second among the most affected countries by active cases. On Sunday, it added 349,691 cases, the highest in a day so far, to take its total caseload to 16,960,172. And, with 2,767 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 192,311, or 1.13 per cent of total confirmed infections.
