DATA STORY: Kerala, Maharashtra account for over 53% of India's active Covid cases

India on Saturday conducted 843,307 coronavirus tests, taking the total count of tests conducted so far in the country to 181,096,622. The test positivity rate recorded was 2.2%

India on Sunday reported a net reduction of 855 to take its count of active coronavirus cases to 223,335, and 78.06 per cent lower than the September 18 peak of 1,017,754. India’s share of global active coronavirus cases has declined to 0.94 per cent (one in 106). The country is now 14^th among the most affected countries by active cases. India added 18,645 cases to take its total caseload to 10,450,284. And, with 201 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 150,999, or 1.45 per cent of total confirmed infections.
 
The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India now
