A team from the state Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) has nabbed ex-minister Raghunath Mohanty in the dowry torture case from Shalimar area in West Bengal, police sources said.
Mohanty has been absconding since March 21, when the Odisha High Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea and struck down his appeal to quash the FIR filed by his daughter-in-law regarding dowry demand and torture case.
The HRPC team headed by BK Sharma, Additional DG (HRPC) has also arrested Pritilata Mohanty, wife of ex minister.

Besides being a long time MLA and a minister, Mohanty was also a vice-president of BJD.
The former minister had resigned on March 15 on moral grounds after his daughter in law Barsha Soni Choudhury leveled dowry torture allegations and filed FIR against him and his family members.
