As the number of mobile phone subscriptions worldwide approaches the number of people on earth (7 billion) by the end of 2014, more than half of these - 3.6 billion subscr-iptions - will be in the Asia-Pacific region. In developing countries, the penetration level of mobile phones will reach 90% by the year end, compared with 121% in developed countries
