Karnatak university scam: Walikar suspended
In-charge vice-chancellor S S Hugar has confirmed Walikar's suspension order reaching the varsity

Governor and chancellor of the universities in the state, Vajubhai Valla has suspended Karnatak University vice-chancellor H B Walikar who has been arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
A notice to this effect was sent from the governor's office last week.
In-charge vice-chancellor S S Hugar has confirmed Walikar's suspension order reaching the varsity.
Walikar's four-year term as vice-chancellor came to was to end on October 24 and the suspension came a day earlier. Thus, the outgoing V-C had to go with the tag 'suspended vice-chancellor'.
The Lokayukta police had arrested Walikar on Monday last and his bail application was rejected on Thursday last.
