Telugu Desam Party legislator Kodela Sivaprasada Rao has been unanimously elected as the first Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly post bifurcation of the state.
The 62-year-old Kodela is a general surgeon by profession and has been a minister in the Cabinets of late NT Rama Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu.
He later declared YSR Congress Legislature Party leader, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, as the leader of the Opposition in the House.
