The Madras High Court today dismissed petitions against the Kudankulam nuclear plant. The development comes as relief for the plant, which is expected to connect with the grid by the end of next month or first week of September.
The High Court's First Bench, comprising of Acting Chief Justice Rakesh Kumar Agarwal and Justice M Sathyanarayanan, dismissed two petitions which called for cancellation of AERB's approval for the "first approach to criticality" for its 1,000 MW first unit and another petition to direct the KNPP not to commission production before it implements the 15 guidelines by the Supreme Court.
The petitions were filed by Sundararajan, representing a NGO.
