Maharashtra Cabinet to approve gutka ban

The Congress-led government in Maharashtra will formally take a decision banning production, distribution and consumption of gutka in the state. The proposal was mooted by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar a month ago. The ban would be initially imposed for one year under the provisions of Food Safety & Standards Act 2006.
