Ministry of external affairs SM Krishna's achievements

 

• Managed to introduce economic diplomacy with the neighbouring countries, especially Pakistan and did not rise to provocation
• introduced an element of predictibility in ties with China.  Tried to play down some of the negative outlook of the media on China
• there was no major financial or other scandal during his tenure as Foreign Minister

CHALLENGES FOR SALMAN KHURSHID 

• Will have to continue along the same trajectory on Pakistan and China
• Will have to manage multiple demands: from the US which will have a new President, from the crisis in the Wsetern economy and will have to prepare India for the exit of Western forces from Afghanistan in 2014
• will have to sell the Indian economy abroad
