India is home to 70 per cent of the world's tigers. At 2,226, the country's tiger population this year is 30.5 per cent higher than in 2010, show latest census data, released on Tuesday. The increase in population has been attributed to several measures taken by the government and tiger reserves. Somesh Jha takes stock of India's major tiger reserves.
