The police have arrested seven suspects along with the custodian Abdul Waheed for killing 20 people including four women at a local Shrine in Sargodha, Pakistan, local media reports said.

At least 20 people were killed by custodian of a shrine and his associates on early Sunday morning in a remote village of Sargodha.

Sargodha Deputy Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta claimed that the custodian Abdul Waheed used a dagger and a baton to kill his victims, further alleging that the latter is mentally unstable, DawnNews reports.

He further informed that an injured woman, who had arrived at the District Hospital in Sargodha, had first reported about the killings, adding that she was one of three survivors who managed to flee from the crime scene.

Following the information provided by her, a team of police personnel rushed to the shrine and arrested the suspect.

Reports said that Abdul Waheed and his accomplices gave intoxicated food to the 22 people present on the shrine and later murdered them after attacking them with dagger and sticks.
