Gujarat High Court on Wednesday rejected IAS officer Pradeep Sharma’s plea seeking to lodge FIR against Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and others in connection with the alleged snooping of a woman architect by the state police on orders of former minister of state for Amit Shah at behest of one ‘saheb’.
Sharma had approached the high court last year after police had refused to file FIR in the case. He had sought direction from the court for police to file FIR in the case against Modi.
Today, Justice G R Udhvani rejected the plea on the grounds that Sharma had alternative remedies available for him before approaching the high court. He directed Sharma to first approach a magisterial court with his grievance.
Two investigative news portals ‘Cobrapost’ and ‘Gulail.com’ had alleged on November 15, 2013 that Shah, a close aide of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi had ordered illegal surveillance of a woman at the behest of one ‘Saheb’.
