The Indian Express newspaperwill be undergoing a rebranding exercise reveal sources close to the Ramnath Goenka-founded publication. The rebranding exercise will be aided by a robust marketing campaign and will co-incide with the launch of the newspaper’s Jaipur edition next week.
While details of the campaign and rebranding exercise are sketchy, the major change in the logo is the exclusion of the clenched hand and ink-pen nib from the logo. The red diagonal lines forming a diamond have been retained and are in the focus. Initial images indicate that the marketing campaign will bring the red diamond and the letter ‘I’ in the body copy of the advertisement in focus.
The announcement of the rebranding exercise came on Friday evening along with the news of Jaipur edition launch. During the announcement, the management also informed the journalists across bureaus that The Indian Express will be increasing its focus on investigative reporting.
It was also reiterated that the promoters of the newspaper have no intentions of selling stake to any external investor.
