A P Shah committee invites view on MAT

The A P Shah committee has invited suggestions from industry associations and other stakeholders on past cases of minimum alternate tax (MAT) on foreign institutional investors (FIIs) by June 22. The decision was taken at a meeting of the committee on Monday.

The committee will go through the suggestions and representations received and thereafter, if required, call representatives for interaction between June 29 and July 6. The committee also comprising former chief economic advisor Ashok Lahiri and chartered accountant Girish Ahuja.
