Acres of paddy ploughed due to early sowing

"Although clear instructions were issued to farmers that they should not sow paddy before June 10, but still some of the farmes disobey the instruction and ultimately the district administration had to take a tough decision and ploughed off as many 19 acres of sowed paddy in the district", Swatantar Kumar Airi, Chief Agriculture Officer said.     

 

There was clear instructions that farmers would not be allowed even to sow nursery of the paddy, but it was unfortunate some of the farmers did not understand the seriousness of the step taken by the state  government, he added.     

Early paddy sowing was a major reasons for the decline in water level and if the trend continues, it may cause major problem for the peasantry of the state, he said while justifying the plough off of the  paddy.
