After Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister P Chidambaram it is now the turn of Planning Commission deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia to use Google hangout to discuss the 12th five-year plan and other issues on March 15.

The hangout will be held to commemorate the Foundation Day of The Planning Commission

"I am delighted to announce a Google+ Hangout with @PlanComIndia on March 15, to discuss 12thplan," Sam Pitroda, advisor to the Prime Minister tweeted. Officials said all the members of the Planning Commission will also be part of the hangout and it will be moderated by a senior journalist from the television media.

The National Development Council ( NDC) has approved the draft 12th Five Year Plan. The plan aims at achieving 8 per cent average growth rate during 2012-17. The government has proposed an increase of over 124 per cent in Gross Budgetary Support for Central Plan in the 12th Plan period (2012-17), over the previous five year period.

Earlier in this month, Finance Minister P Chidambaram also took to Google hangout to explain proposals announced in the Union Budget 2013-14. Chidambaram took questions from economists, businessmen, IIM student, home maker and others during the hour-long interaction on the Internet.

He joined the league of other powerful personalities across the globe including US President Barack Obama; Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard; Malaysian Prime Minister Najib; and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi who had interacted with netizens on Google Hangout.

Modi turned to Google Hangout on August 31, 2012, to connect with voters during his election campaign. Google+ Hangouts are multi-person video chats and allow up to 10 people participating at a point of time. One can later share the hangout on YouTube or live stream it using Hangouts on Air.
