AP govt releases Rs 119 crore for metro rail

The state government has released Rs 119 crore for the Hyderabad metro rail project, the construction of which will commence in March, next year.

Chief minister K Rosaiah has approved an amount of Rs 500 crore for the project in the current financial year.

At a review meeting held on Thursday, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) managing director NVS Reddy informed the chief minister that the preparatory work for the project was in full swing and the land acquisition and survey work, including soil survey, were being taken up.

According to an official press release, HMRL had so far taken into possession 28.5 out of 65 acres of government land meant for the project.

 

Negotiations for 100 acres of land at Nagole are in progress and will be completed soon.
