CBI starts probe into MGNREGS scam

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has commenced probe into alleged irregularities in the implementation of labour intensive Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in Orissa from Tuesday.

The CBI is probing irregularities in this Central sponsored scheme in six out of 30 districts in the state as per the direction of the Supreme Court and will submit the inquiry report to the court within six months.
