DMRC assures safety on Dwarka line

DMRC also states that repair works were done by DMRC during erection of span in 2005

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has rebutted the recent media reports about cracks in the pillar on the Dwarka line. In a statement released on Thursday, DMRC assured its commuters that the line is completely safe.

"The reported cracks are not actually cracks but these are signs of epoxy used in repairing work done in the year 2005, “, said Mangu Singh, Managing Director, DMRC.

DMRC also stated that the repair works were done by DMRC during erection of span in 2005. This is before the line was opened to the public.

“The repairs are standing well since then, “said the press statement.

Officials from DMRC assured the commuters that the 25 to 30 and 70 on the Dwarka line have been again inspected and found in good condition. DMRC has argued that the repair work when seen from the ground may give an impression of a crack which is not factually correct.

Recent media reports had said that some pillars on the Dwarka line need urgent repairs and raise questions of safety for the commuter.
