After withdrawing the minimum alternate tax on foreign portfolio investors (FPI), the finance ministry will interact with FPIs on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the ministry will meet domestic financial market participants. The meetings have been called by the department of economic affairs in the run-up to the pre-Budget consultations.

"Foreign investors and domestic market participants would raise various issues of interest to them as part of this consultation exercise," finance ministry said in a release.

The interaction with FPIs will include discussion on simplification of FPI registration process, development of fund management sector in India, and FPI investment in corporate bond market. The meeting with domestic market participants will have discussions on integration of various segments of the market, increasing retail participation, among others.

The meeting will also be attended by representatives of the Reserve Bank, Securities and Exchange Board of India, and the Central Board of Direct Taxes.
