Guv praises Modi for kite festival

Gujarat Governor Dr Kamla on Wednesday hailed chief minister Narendra Modi for his efforts in popularising the Kite Festival, saying his personal interest has made the programme "spectacular and impressive".

Flagging off the 22nd International Kite Festival along with Modi at the Sabarmati riverfront here on Wednesday, the Governor said, "Makar Sankranti has a unique place in Gujarat's tradition, more particularly for Ahmedabad city. The festival, in social terms, has become a symbol of unity and brotherhood."
